SWS and VK1602 updates

Finally got around to painting these two. First the GWH SWS;
Then the Hobbyboss VK1602:
 All the camo was sprayed freehand then touched up with the base colour after to get rid of the overspray.
Hopefully I can get some gloss varnish on the VK1602 tonight. More later...

Alpine Miniatures 1/16 Panzer Leutnant figure

I originally painted this figure a couple of years ago but was never happy with the way the face turned out plus the paint was too shiny on the trousers, which sometimes happens with certain Vallejo acrylics.
Anyway I repainted the face about a month ago, sprayed Lifecolour matt varnish onto the trousers to kill the sheen and actually made a proper base. I think it looks a lot better!
The original figure from a couple of years back;

And now the (finally) finished piece;

Older stuff

A couple of older builds;
Dragon 1/35 Jagdpanther G1

Dragon 1/35 SdKfz 250/9

 Tamiya 1/35 T-55A

 Hasegawa 1/32 Ju87G

Hasegawa 1/48 Me109G-10

Last completed build; M728 CEV

This is a conversion based on the Esci M60A3 and features a new turret and lifting jib by Perfect Scale Modellbau and a dozer blade, commanders cupola and various other bits from the Academy M60. The tracks are by AFV Club but were a disappointment due to the weak fixing pins and I could'nt get the correct track tension. Next time I'll try tracks by Bronco. This model featured in the October 2011 issue of Model Military Int'l.

Current project

At the moment I have ready for the paint shop Hobbyboss's 1/35 kit of the VK1602 Leopard;

This was an absolute joy to build, just what I needed after a long period of AMS (Advanced Modellers Syndrome) :o)
